Overflow Copywriting for Growing Agencies
An Experienced Writer Who Lends a Hand—When You Need it
You’re on a roll—your small to mid-sized marketing firm isn’t just booming, it’s growing. Your client roster is expanding, and your project board is brimming to the top.
But all that success could create a new headache: deadlines arriving faster than your team can keep up.
You could expand your team—and perhaps that’s your ultimate plan. But right now, those swells that overwhelm you only happen in spurts—they don’t justify a new hire.
The answer is to call in an overflow creative to lend a hand—but only when you need them.
And not just anyone—this solution works best with a seasoned professional, experienced enough to jump in without handholding, and a little guidance.
Someone you can simply point in the right direction.
That’s where I can help. I’ve been writing for marketing firms for over thirty years, mostly on an as-needed basis. I’ve handled all kinds of copy, from print articles and brochures to online blog posts and long-form site content.

A Writer You Can Trust
My name is David Webster, and I’m a copywriter who has assisted agency clients with overflow needs for more than thirty years. During that time, I’ve produced content for many of their clients in healthcare, economic development, and finance.
In my earlier years, I worked mostly with print: hospital newsletters, brochures, feature articles and the like. (And along the way, I’ve also had a few magazine articles published under my own name.)
My work now is primarily online, mainly for websites and blogs. Regarding the latter, I’ve written over 1,800 blog articles for clients—roughly half million words.
I continue to serve clients with clients, and welcome the chance to serve you.

Some Common Questions Before We Get Started
Will my clients know you're involved?
No—I work white-label and NDA-friendly by default. I send my work directly to you, not to your client.
Do I need to give you detailed direction, or can you work independently?
I’m built for light-touch management. Give me essential instructions, and your brand/style guidelines, and I can run with it. If I need clarification, I’ll ask—and I’m happy to provide periodic “spot checks” to ensure we’re on the same page.
How often can I use you—only for big overflow spikes, or for smaller ongoing needs?
Either option—I don’t require any minimum commitment or retainer. I’m available whether you need help once a quarter or every week.
What industries or content types have you actually worked in?
Mostly healthcare, economic development, and finance across formats from web content and blogs to print features and PR—see the portfolio link for examples. That said, I consider myself a fast learner, and am always up for new challenges!
What should I expect to pay?
Every project’s a bit different, so I price based on scope rather than a flat rate—generally working out to around $45/hour. As a reference point, a 600-word blog article typically runs $100-$150, depending on the amount of research or background work involved. Happy to give you a specific quote once I know what you need.
Focused on Your Success!
Your talented A-team is your firm’s secret sauce. But you might also benefit from that occasional creative who seamlessly pitches in when you need a little extra help.
That’s where you can count on me—I may not be a starter on your team, but you can rely on me as an experienced overflow writer to be just as dedicated to your success!
